The Simmons Group continues to bring an increasing number of value-added engineering projects to our office in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. This is in view of the growing sophistication of Pacific Rim manufacturers and their supplier base.

Support for Programs

The Simmons Group has its own experienced on-site personnel who fully support all these programs. The overall project responsibility is assumed by our operations and engineering group. Once they have taken charge, they would first identify before they give their qualification to the primary manufacturer. Then, they would engage with the manufacturer that was selected in having all engineering issues addressed and evaluated. This group would continue to be involved throughout the entire phases of manufacturing, sampling, and tooling. These experienced personnel of the Simmons Group would also work with the primal vendor for identification and qualification of local suppliers of a wide array of parts, ranging from electronic sub-assemblies and plastic injection components to mechanical stampings. At the earliest stages of the mechanical assemblies our Quality Control Department gets involved. This assists in the qualification process of the primary vendor for every one f the projects that the Simmons Group is handling. They also continue to operate with the vendor to make sure that the appropriate quality assurance controls and quality controls are available and adhered to. Our Quality Control personnel also work with all customers to define and implement our own in-process and audit inspection procedures so that all the finished products meet the specifications set by each one of our clients.

Manufacture Programs

A large number of our clients have been taking advantage of the benefits which they stand to gain from our Pacific Rim engineering to create complex finished mechanical assemblies for themselves. This is as a result of the newly developed products or mature designs. The reason why they have made such wise decisions is not unconnected to the fact that such programs are effectively supported by an increasing range of component parts easily outsourced within the local industry as well as the growing sophistication of manufacturers in those two places that are capable of managing complex projects.

Pictured to the right is one of the various mechanical assemblies that we have processed. It comprises of several components numbering well over 400.  Some of the components that were used to design it are cold headed and screw machined parts, plastic injection moldings, rubber moldings, sintered powered metal parts, stampings, gravity castings, and pressure die castings.
